FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

1. Are these original artworks?

The artworks you see on Blackbird on a Wire began life as original paintings created by Ngozi Weller. The pieces available to purchase here are fine-art reproductions, individually printed to order on premium matte paper.

2. What sizes are available?

Prints are available in:

  • A4: 210 × 297mm

  • A3: 297 × 420mm

  • A2: 420 × 594mm

  • A1: 594 x 841mm

Where the proportions of the original artwork differ from standard A-series proportions, a white margin may be retained so that the complete composition can be reproduced without cropping.

3. Are the prints framed?

No. All Blackbird prints are currently sold unframed, leaving you free to choose a frame that works with your own space and style.

4. What are the prints made from?

Each piece is reproduced as a high-quality fine-art print on premium matt paper by a specialist UK print partner.

5. Will my print look exactly like it does on screen?

We make every effort to reproduce the original artwork accurately. However, colours can vary slightly between screens and printed materials because of differences in monitors, devices and display settings. These small variations are a normal part of purchasing artwork online.

6. Where do you deliver?

For now, Blackbird on a Wire online checkout is currently available for UK delivery only. UK standard delivery is £4.95 per order. For information about dispatch times, returns or damaged orders, please see our Delivery & Returns page.

If you're outside the UK and would like to order a print, please contact me before purchasing. International orders can usually be arranged separately, with delivery costs confirmed based on your location and order.

7. Do you sell the original paintings?

Not currently. Blackbird on a Wire is launching with a curated collection of fine-art prints. Never say never, though!

8. Can I order a different size?

At present, prints are available in A4, A3, A2 and A1 only. Keeping the range simple allows us to maintain consistency and quality across the collection.

9. Can I commission a piece?

Not currently. Painting is still where I experiment, follow ideas, and see what happens rather than work to a brief. But things evolve, so watch this space.

10. Where can I see new and experimental work?

Follow @blackbirdonawire on Instagram. That's where you'll find the experiments, works in progress, happy accidents and occasional disasters that happen before the pieces that make the cut arrive at Blackbird.
